We expect our workers to:
- Be reliable and punctual
- Conduct themselves professionally at all times
- Treat participants with dignity, respect and kindness
- Follow participant support plans and organisational procedures
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Respect participant choice and control

- Maintain participant confidentiality and privacy
- Identify and report incidents, risks and concerns appropriately
- Work safely and within their scope of training and competence
- Be willing to learn and participate in ongoing training

We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has a genuine passion for disability support
- Is dependable and takes their commitments seriously
- Has a positive and engaging personality
- Is patient, respectful and compassionate
- Has excellent communication skills
- Can work independently
- Is also comfortable being part of a small, growing team
- Understands person-centred practice
- Is willing to follow policies, procedures and participant-specific instructions
- Can demonstrate sound judgement and professional boundaries
- Is willing to receive feedback and continue developing their skills
- Wants to build a longer-term relationship with a growing provider
We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the quality of the support they provide.
THE RIGHT PARTICIPANT MATCH IS IMPORTANT
At Abundance Care & Support, we understand that a successful support relationship depends on finding the right fit between the participant and their support worker.
For this reason, successful employment will depend on the applicant being considered a suitable match for the participant, in addition to meeting the skills, experience, screening and other requirements of the position.
We will consider factors such as:
- Communication style
- Personality and interpersonal skills
- Relevant experience
- Availability
- Professional approach
- Ability to understand and follow participant preferences
- Ability to build a respectful and positive working relationship
- Suitability for the participant's individual support needs
This means that not every applicant will necessarily be suitable for this particular participant, even if they have previous disability support experience.
Our priority is always the safety, wellbeing, choice and quality of life of the participant.
