At Fusion5, we're not just technology partners - we're Transformation Partners. Across Australia and New Zealand, we help organisations go beyond individual platforms to design and deliver connected, future-ready solutions that create real business impact.
Our Managed Services Modern Work and Security practice is growing, and we're looking for an experienced
Senior Modern Work and Security Architect to play a pivotal role in how we scope, shape and deliver the solutions our customers need.
This is a senior, front-of-room role for someone who's just as comfortable in a client conversation as they are talking technical detail. You'll work closely with our sales and delivery teams to properly scope Managed Services engagements - understanding what a customer is really trying to solve, the environment they're in, and what a workable solution looks like - so that what we sell is what we can actually deliver. You'll also help shape our service catalogue and be part of Fusion5's emerging Centre of Excellence.
What You'll Do
You'll be trusted to bring deep Modern Workplace expertise into pre-sales and delivery conversations. This includes:
- Getting involved early in customer conversations to properly qualify Managed Services opportunities - understanding the client's environment, ticket volumes and what they're actually trying to solve.
- Helping shape Fusion5's Managed Services offering - what's in scope, what isn't, and how we price and deliver it consistently.
- Contributing to Fusion5's emerging Centre of Excellence, helping build the standards and thinking that will guide the practice over time.
- Bringing strong Modern Workplace expertise, with a solid understanding of security concepts (MFA, Zero Trust fundamentals and the broader cyber landscape.
- Supporting the push toward automation, orchestration and self-service, helping clients get more value from tools like Halo.
- Engaging confidently and credibly with clients - you'll be one of the technical people we trust to put in front of a customer.
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced consultants where it's useful - this isn't a people-leadership role, but your experience will help others grow.
- Partnering closely with Sales and delivery teams to make sure what's scoped and sold is realistic, well-understood and deliverable.
- Working alongside experienced Modern Workplace, security and pre-sales specialists across the practice to build well-rounded solutions.
What You'll Bring
This role suits an experienced Modern Workplace specialist who's just as comfortable in front of a client as they are solving a technical problem. You'll have:
- 10+ years' experience in Microsoft technologies, with strong depth in Modern Work and Security.
- 7+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 migrations, including tenant-to-tenant.
- A solid understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture - if you have formal solution architecture experience too, that's a bonus, but it's not a requirement.
- Experience working within a Managed Services, Consulting or Systems Integrator environment.
- A solid, high-level understanding of Microsoft security concepts (MFA, Zero Trust fundamentals) - deep cybersecurity expertise is a bonus, not a must.
- Comfortable in front of clients and confident in pre-sales-adjacent conversations - you don't need to be a dedicated salesperson, but you know how to build trust and shape a solution with a customer in the room.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to represent Fusion5 credibly in front of clients.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (M365 Administrator Expert, Identity & Access, Endpoint, Information Protection & Compliance, SC-100, Teams) are highly regarded, though strong real-world experience matters more than a full set.
- Ability to obtain (or already hold) an Australian Government security clearance - baseline as a minimum, with some engagements requiring NV1.
Please note this role is based in Sydney or Melbourne, and only candidates with current and unrestricted rights to work in Australia can be considered.
