What is the best part of working at the company?
There are some good team members in the Night Team, and some good residents that make the work rewarding.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Poor communication from management. 
No accountability from management and some staff members. 
Management do not genuinely care about staff and/or resident safety. 
Inadequate training provided but expected to know everything and will be reprimanded when mistakes are mistakes, but management will never take responsibility for not taking the time to train staff properly to avoid the mistakes being made in the first place.
Poorly managed by staff that are not properly educated in mental health and how to deal with drunk adolescents that are out of control, thus enabling the latter and putting staff and other residents in danger. 
I do not recommend anyone to work for UniLodge if they care about their overall health and wellbeing. It does not pay to be a caring human being because this company doesn't care about it's staff.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor staff morale due to all the problems that management ignore when staff raise issues and try to suggest improvements.  It's only good when you get along with other staff members.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Frustration. Fear that drunk adolescents intimidating you, disrespecting you, not listening and not following the rules especially when attending to noise complaints, throwing glass bottles and causing property damage. Management not believing you when you raise grievances and pretending to be supportive but don't actually care about your mental health and physical safety. 
It's the type of place you go for your soul to die.

Sometime you get free food from event

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not enough of Chinese speak staffs as most of residents are from Chinese backgrounds 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They hire you as Chinese speakers staffs, but they deny it. When all the works are too overwhelming , the manager would just say to you …you should just speak English…even the clients/Residents speak Chinese to you…what a poor management 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Overwhelming and stressful
2 front desk need to deal with over 800 residents and 70% residents would come to you as you are the one staff speak Chinese

One of the worst and most stressful jobs I have ever had!

The training is laughable. Management shows you how to do something once, very quickly, without giving you time to practice. If you ask for help, they roll their eyes. Then they treat you as if you are slow or dumb!

You are expected to work alone at front desk, dealing with +400 residents, phone calls, inspections, financial tasks, and many other responsibilities. Everything is treated as a priority!

You also have to deal with different people and situations every day. Complaints are non-stop!

The staff turnover is high, which is a major red flag. They are always hiring!

The team is really nice, and this would have been a great place to learn the basics. However, the processes are outdated and not aligned with the outside world. It is not keeping up with trends and if you suggest anything, good luck being treated fairly. Forecasting, and proactiveness don't exist here.  

However, in fairness, you work full time in the city, with great places to eat lunch. 

As a Senior Resident (SR), at UniLodge@ANU, my responsibilities included residential support and providing pastoral care to residents at UniLodge. 

This included staying in regular contact with residents on my floor, responding to incidents such as fire alarms, roommate disputes and noise complaints; supporting the work of the Residents' Committee to promote a vibrant residential community and participating in official functions such as Orientation Week and Open Day.

Lovely working environment, with a good culture - My typical day at work included admin work and focusing on resident enrichment activities, leadership skills managing different complaints and situations as well as resident care and workplace health and security. 
I learnt a lot from working at UniLodge including customer service skills that enable good communication skills with multicultural residents.

The rooms are good and have a relaxed environment but the problem is their way of giving salary it is almost a month when they are sending the salary which is not really good specially we international students needs money to supply our needs here

Every morning all co workers have a smile on their face with their positive ready to work energetic attitude. The days I look forward to are donut wednsdays where we all take our breaks at the same time and enjoy eachothers company sipping on coffee munching on donuts. The hardest part of the job would be dealing with the 2% of the guests who would give our jobs a hard time.

Stuck in its outdated operational processes. Low tech with its systems - very labour intensive. Operates on limited resources and high staff turnover. Low retention rate equates to high levels of dissatisfaction.

I have worked at UniLodge as a residential Life Manager during my last two years of study at Victoria University.

My experience there has been overly positive and fulfilling.
