As a guest attendant, responsibilities revolved around janitorial work and carts. The job was pretty awful but with a good group of co workers manageable. Unfortunately, the mid level manager routinely misinformed of us and created an atmosphere of mistrust and frustration with many of the policies implemented. Consistently felt undervalued at this job, despite having a demanding job (the particular Target I worked in was in the top thirty in terms of customer volume). Consistently understaffed to meet the demands of the store. Consistently brushed off about potential scheduling issues. 

There was a great team culture, largely due to the team members commiserating and just trying to get their jobs handled. Team leads (managers) were often involved in inter-leader bickering and disregarded actual in store issues (there were a few good ones, they are probably the only reason the store still runs). 

No amount of teamwork can overcome a severe lack of coverage on a slammed day though. Often times every team member would be needed two places at once, and there was little flexibility with calling in extra hands.

I wouldn't recommend anyone working here unless you want it to be your life. There is no loyalty and upper management is full of themselves. They don't care about their employees even though they say they do. You will constantly work hard only for upper management to conduct "visits" which consists of more criticizing than it does teaching. You could work for the company for years and be successful and if one bad boss doesn't like you they will set you up to fail so they can fire you. This company cares about nothing but sales and red cards and could care less that you exist. As a salaried manager they expect you to work way past your scheduled hours and can call you or text you anytime and expect you to show up. There is no work life balance and they could care less about your well being. Don't let them fool when they preach well being. I don't recommend anyone in any position working for this company.

The workplace culture there is pretty bad. working with 15+ guys & they're worse than the Kardashians.  I'm not sure how many drivers they went through but there's no security for the drivers & offsiders. Some furniture's are impossible to get into the house & they (customer service, sales people) will try & tell you to force it in or else they would lose their commission. Sales people are the worse. They'll sell furniture to people knowing that they will break in a few months time & will make promises that they can not fulfil. Once they take your money, you might end up waiting months for your furniture. I've never worked at a company where the communication is really bad.  I'm glad that I left & doing well at this new job. Got promoted twice in 1 year, as this company can see what I'm actually worth. 

Management is all under 30 year old's right out of college. Most cant read at a adult level and don't listen to a thing they are told. If they are having a bad day for any reason they take it out on employees, there is nothing but toxicity here. HR is there to Plausibly Deny any and all issues that are reported to them. Most managers last 3 months max and then they bring in another one with zero experience. Promotions are based on relationships you have with management. without a significant other in management promotion is near impossible. 

After school i would come home, get ready and catch the bus to work. I would also work on weekends.
My duties were to:
- Tidy and arrange stock on shelving.
- Help customers with their inquiries. 
- Serve customers on the tills.
The management were very structured and always made me clear on what i had to do.
The hardest part of the job was working during festive holidays, because it was busy and there would constantly be customers waiting for help.
The most enjoyable part of working with Target would have to be the satisfaction a customer feels when you find what they are looking for from the reserves (back of store).

What is the best part of working at the company?
Being permanent-partime on a contract so I had sick pay and holiday pay.Management was great and the hours were flexible.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The only bad thing was having to pay for parking

It was great.everyone was friendly, helpful just great team work really

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I worked at the checkouts and layby most of the time so every day was different

I stared at work different times every day, early mornings to late nights. I would start on the registers and stay on the registers for majority of my shift and help out replenishment or shelf layouts if needed. I learnt something new everyday but having experience   made it easy for me and also learnt different ways of doing things like setting up new layouts. My co-workers were amazing we all got along and worked together. The most enjoyable part of the job would be meeting a lot of different people and that everyday was different.

Target used to be an amazing company to work for...recently leadership changes and expectations have made working there a nightmare.

The team members and other leaders in the store are awesome, but group and district leadership have apparently forgotten the motto of fast, fun and friendly leading many of the stores to be miserable.

having worked in multiple areas in the job, i’ve learnt many different techniques and methods on doing the job correctly. over the course of time, i’ve gotten quicker with my roles and more confident, yet always open to feedback and constructive criticism, which managers will always provide efficiently and positively! nothing is ever taken negatively, and team members are always prepared for new information and new role opportunities.
