My day starts with printing the previous days bank statements. I then reconcile these statements with the system and produce  the trial balances for the 5 accounts.
I then move onto attending to my emails that can be many, I forward these onto the various team members to handle who eventually will give them back to me for process and including in the trial balances for the next day.
I usually move onto HR issues then and work on either wages, termination issues or updating information.
IT management is another of my hats, all issues surrounding IT come through me an I arrange the problem to be handled by our support company.
Creditors entered into MYOB is next, working out the split between the different arms. 
I manage all payments from the cheque accounts, I manage refunds on deposits and transfer funds between accounts where necessary.
I am also the manager of Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards and do this regularly when time permits. 
Another duty I own is the management of the security system, all staff have entry codes, swipe cards and carpark entry swipe, these accounts are all handled by me and monitored daily. 
I would do any other business in-between these major duties throughout the day.

Begin work at 8.45am most days but it is a coastal office so there is greater intensity during the Summer and Autumn months.
The main aspect of the real estate business I learnt about here was the importance of running good "open for inspections" and there value to my success.
For the most part management was good from the Director and Branch Manager, with regular Monday sales meeting and easy access to him for consultation but at times he became a control freak and limited opportunities through being narrow minded.
I have a good relationship with my fellow employees and sales staff but perhaps feel I am alone trying new things to promote the business.
Definitely the hardest part of the job is coping with big changes in inquiry levels due to the peaks and troughs of a seasonal, coastal office.
The most enjoyable part of real estate in any venue is the success of a good patch of sales

To sell properties to investors, to go and get properties to sell, negotiate commisions, advertising, write ups on sale properties and contact to clients daily. Also manage a PIM department with 3 staff and cleaners. Manage over 350 perm rental properties and 70 holiday homes. Delegate jobs for the day for all staff, inspections, condition reports, financials, accounts received/payable. Over the past 15 years I have learnt to deal with all walks of life. tenanats, investors, landlords, vendors, purchasers all with different needs. Customer service what this office excels with. My co-workers are all high achievers, all different personalities which blends a very successful office. Its extremly hard to turn off from Real estate which makes it demanding. If i didnt enjoy every bit of this job I ould have left years ago. This has been a fantastic place to work and the only reason I am leaving is to be with my partner who is working on the Curtis Island plant.

However, not impressed with a department manager who currently still resides in employment.
Bullying is unacceptable in the workplace...

Targeted perhaps...however a new person was employed six months after me, and within two weeks l l was being harrassed, then given an uncalled for, warning letter.. for not completing a final bond within two days of key hand in. For not setting alarm system from working back late.for allegedly not answering my personal phone when out conducting inspections.. if contacting me out office was important, then the receptionist would have been advised when l called in..
I'd say diffinately targeted.❓❓
The residential tenancy act allows within 14 days to conduct a final bond..though l would not recommend this.. as soon as practicable to complete, once keys have been handed in..

For job security,  I would not recommend.  Hours are not 9-5 as stated,  in reality  24/7.
There is an expectation  to deal with customers  on days off, weekends  holidays evenings etc. 
We must respond and must be available to meet  client  needs at any given time and this often intrudes in personal  and family  time.  If you are  willing to commit to this kind of  expectation  with minimal  financial  results,  this is the industry  for you. 
There are little to no rewards for the expected commitment and it often had an impact on both family  and work life, not to mention  personal time. 
Real estate  is also a rather fickle industry and  a lot of the job requires you to co-erce  a potential  client  into either  buying or selling. 
With the rise of online  real estate  sites,  the old fashion  real estate office is a dying institution  and  wemay not see these around for very much longer.

My role as a receptionist at LJ Hooker included many things that have given me skills that I still use to this day, examples of some daily duties I did were; Organized and scheduled office meetings as well as client appointments for team of 6 professionals, effectively accommodating hectic agendas. Answered telephone calls to field inquiries from clients, vendors and various other callers seeking information. Sorted and distributed mail correspondence between departments and personnel, including parcel packaging, preparation and efficient shipping and Aggregated and prepared documentation and reports for office meetings, distribution and filing

I would arrive a 8am . Start on the computers turn photocopier on , turn on all the lights in the windows showing all of our properties for rent and sale and generally get the office ready for the day. Phones would start ringing about 8:30am i would be doing general admin duties till lunch. 
Then come back make sure all my jobs were completed by the end of the day including all banking and mailing for each day . The most enjoyable part for me was the face to face contact with customers. I would finish everyday with a smile and a sense of accomplishment at 5pm.

I loved this role until their were Management changes within a family business.

Loved the role completely.

My day was based on controlling all facets of Rental Trust Accounting (REST) and General Bookkeeping MYOB including Payroll.

LJ Hooker managed around 1000 properties/owners.

I completed End of Month for both Trust Accounting in REST and MYOB.

The job was fantastic as I was busy every day and every day was different.  I loved solving problems and thrived on my work.

It was unfortunate about certain Management issues as I would have stayed there for a long time.

A typical day at work is full of smiles, laughter and hard work. I have learnt a heap working here, and the management is great - any problems are always fixed. My co-workers all made me feel welcome and even remember everyone's birthdays and get them a cake! The hardest part of this job is probably when you first encounter a task, and are still unsure of how to use a particular program or machine. The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to see how much I've done and that it is helping other people.

I had problems getting listings as I worked with a very established team of sales reps. I moved from Western Australia to Queensland in August 2017. I researched my ‘farm area’, and put a lot of time into marketing and prospecting in the area.  I got no support from the owner of the franchise, and any sales enquiries went to the already established team. 
I loved the job, but could see no future there.
