I only work here for a few month, work culture is fine, the facility I work in is low care which mean not many residents to take care of, meaning less staff. Was a bit surprised I didn’t have any proper training just 1-2 buddy shift and of we go, they let new staff work without any supervision, expecting that we know all residents routine after 1 training. Management is out of hands, people call in sick 30min or 1hours right before shift starts, creating weights to the other attended staff. Short of staff all the time. Task shift does not get updated regularly, new staff could get very confuse. My role is a PCA but sometime I have to adapt kitchen staff role, i don’t know how that even works they just expecting us to deliver food, tea, and collect tray. Just horrible! Salary is low $26 per hours, and yet it requires so much more than just taken care of resident. Hospitality/ restaurant waiter get pays more than Bluecross do. By the way they don’t even require qualifications.

Few residents are great, and lovely to work with Very few staff are genuine and hardworking

bluecross is being clever just to show great result right now after just changing few things but it is not going to last forever

No one values no one at 
No supervision
Everyone is doing whatever they want to but not following correctly and no one is doing their job properly and complain behind the back and shows fake face infront of each other
Manager did not supervise Properly when staff needed the most. Manager never knew whats going on the floor
Very hard toxic environment to work 80-90% of total old staff left this place who were great staff to work with
Staff were not valued as they should be
Those who are genuinely hard working had been facing lot of stress
Favourism and ignoring the fact is still going on

No support, bullying staff, save your time and skills for another place
Manager racists
CCC with no qualification En with cert
Teaching and guiding other nurses wrong procedures for wounds etc
No time to have your say no one listen to you
It’s a mess there 
Always watching camera sitting hours looking monitor to see what staff doing on floor
There is no trust there

Others are better management

All staff and management is very friendly & cooperative.

There is no any part is stressful is you are truly with your work.

All days I like to work over there

management not respectful of work life balance. always had veiled threats when you say you cant work. end up working every day for WEEKS no rdo etc. No team building exercises. staff formed cliques based on what area you worked in most (eg high care, dementia, ward xyz etc) so when you worked somewhere other than usual you dont know the residents well enough to give best care. and staff can be cold to you.

I left the work as I was bullied by a group of people and no body took an initiative to stop them properly. 

The quality of the care is good and facilitation to.employees is fair too. 

My manager verbally warned the person who lead bullying towards me and it did not stop. It took me a whole year to give my residence a chance again and again which served no purpose and hence I had to leave as I was mentally suffering too much.

I started at bluecross as part cleaner and I got very good work environment and very supportive staff members there. After couple of months my manager promotes me to as a cleaning supervisor. I love working there because I have very balanced work and personal life while working there and I got some good friends from there as well.

I learned that you cant trust any one. A lot of the people that I worked with were only in it for the money and not really there for the residents. I love working in Aged care.

Working for Bluecross it’s great, I fit my work and life balance, salary is good, if you are a good worker you get plenty of hours, staff it’s very helpful, if you have any concerns, you can call them, if you need counselling you got 5 free session a year.

BlueCross at Sandringham Victoria was one of the best Nursing Homes I have worked for. very friendly & understanding, especially when it came to my retirement form the company due to on-going problems with my shoulder. 
I truly miss this place.
