I worked for this company for a year, and in that year i really cant fault them. They were always on the end of the line if i needed them and they were always fair but strict. 
I have been a care worker/ support worker for 5 different companies and this one by far beats the rest. 
I think it's quite well managed as you have Team leaders as well as client liaisons and RN's. 
They were always great with only giving me shifts during my availability and i did have pretty consistent hours with regular clients i would see. All the clients seemed quite happy too.

I left to move on to bigger things and left the care giver role, i would of loved to of become a team leader there but it would appear that the office staff have been with the company for a long time so no available spots at the time. That proves that the working environment in the office must also be good to work in.
The only down side to the company was that like every other community care company they can't guarantee stability and some weeks with cancellations my hours would drop drastically which made it hard to budget and survive. The schedulers were always fantastic as if they needed you to do an extra shift they would always ring they never just added it without consulting you first. 
I worked for the Gold Coast office out in the community.

i will continue to recommend this company to all other people who want to become care givers. 


Whilst working at Anglicare I realised that the turnover was very high in all different departments. To begin with management are awful. Management made me do 2 peoples jobs at the same time whilst doing my own and would constantly tell me off for not being quick enough. I would get told off for doing things my managers would do almost every day but get away with it because they are "managers". The management are overall just unprofessional. There is absolutely no "work life balance". You have to beg, like literally BEG your managers to let you take a day off once in a while because you want to take leave, even though you are entitled to it. Managers will make you travel to locations that are so far and you don't have a say in it! I worked here for 5 months and when I had my interview I was not informed about any of these extra jobs or travelling I would have to do. I have heard many stories from my other colleagues about how they got treated awfully by management and honestly kinda knew the same thing was going to happen to me. Very unprofessional!

If you get the wrong manager it determines how much you will enjoy or hate this place. Unfortunately for me the manager I had was passive aggressive, disrespectful to the little and "less important" people in the company and did not really want to hear the teams ideas. It was all about them.  There were some really long days in this role but the worst thing was that I did not get that time back and was expected to work hours of overtime without time in lieu. 

HR did not get back to me when I had questions or complaints. My concerns were not really listened to or managed within a reasonable timeframe so I ending up resigning with no back up job. That's how bad it was. 

I am not saying the whole organisation is horrible, as there were some lovely people. Just make sure to ask you manager lots of question in the interview to also check out their experience with people and their experience working with teams. 


I accepted a job offer as a casual cleaner and completed a week of training and did a couple of buddy shifts before I decided it was not for me. The following week Inwas rostered on for a single, 1 hour shift. And gross pay was $23 an hour which is so bad with the cost of living in 2023. I enquired about the possibility of picking up hours doing transportation or social work coz no way am I showering someone for $23 an hour. They said I was locked to cleaning shifts only. Despite this I still had to do the full training program learning about things like catheters and nursing stuff even though it was not relevant to my role. We had to complete like 60 training modules which were incredibly dull and boring tedious but only given one day to complete them. They could not even organise a uniform for my buddy shifts and when I did resign, the day before my first shift, they still hadn’t organised my uniform. Would not recommend working at Anglicare 

Going to work is an absolute pleasure when staff are able to focus on their clients and give person centred care. Although, due to lack of resources that are necessary to do the job efficiently, staff have their hands tied.  Management is too busy trying to restrict  the provisions necessary to do the job and there is a constant issue of wasting precious client time as staff are very regularly searching and asking for basic resources. The poor clients have restrictions which compromises their dignity .
The hardest part of the job is the frustration of letting clients down due to low staffing and management focusing on "the budget" instead of client care and their true needs.
Workplace culture is terrific, I love my colleagues.
Also no opportunity for advancement if you're not "a favourite" no matter what your qualifications.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not really, they showing off looking after people in need, they can't even look after their own staff how can they look after someone who needs help.  Very cruel management team and very very pathetic people are on top. They don't care working levels of people. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They push you to work for them to get the government or individuals package or savings. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Diversity,  but they give the promotion and favour of only white.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Their forecast is only showing off looking after clients but they are killing staff as unfair work load without checking a person's capacity.

Anglicare do great work on the outside for those in need however, do not care nor properly manage their employees. Management do as they please, form cliques and are never held accountable for their actions, even when formal complaints are made. Employees get no support whatsoever so many people within the organisation are unhappy and when this is expressed to their team leaders or management, it gets pushed under the rug because it’s not all positivity and rainbows. For a Christian organisation their actions definitely do not reflect what they constantly continue to preach. Very disappointed in the organisation and will never return or give a positive review to those thinking about working there. They should be ashamed of how they treat those that are doing the hard work for them!

I love the elderly clients, I appreciate the work being done by the management but I would have loved to see the carers doing the correct things at all times,. There is too much shortcuts in residents care. It broke my heart. Too much bullying on night shift by the night care workers coz they have been on the job and same shift for far too long and they think they rule the place. I  have seen  the RN!s working really hard.  PM shift there is a need for another carer to augment the staff complement  the short staffing is impacting on resident care. If only the powers that be can look into this it will definitely help the residents. Also looking at changing the night carers.

I have enjoyed my time work for Anglicare especially with some lovely clients and the best supportive team leader you can ask for.
A great company to work for they are very people center and have good morals and Christian values. There are lots of ongoing paid training online or face to face. And the supportive teams are really committed to help provide quality aged care to the clients. A truely rewarding work experience there. Highly recommend to join an organization like Anglicare that makes a genuine difference to the community.


This work place only gets worse and worse every day.  Under staffed and over worked, so much so that many accidents have happened and staff take a lot of time off either sick or on workers compensation.  No team work.  Management don't listen or care.  Foreign co workers are constantly talking their own language, which means they are probably talking about you, and obviously have no respect for other people.
Management and some staff are related so have the "I can get away with whatever I want" attitude... and they do.
So why am I still here... only till I can find another job.
