Daily manage a team of busn and tech testers across multiple environment platforms and diverse projects.
Managing these guys was a pleasure and they responded with outstanding results.
I learned to blend the cultures of permanent and skill hire staff so no one felt out of place in the team.
Team culture and professionalism was my main driving force.
I enjoyed mentoring new staff members to ensure they felt part of the team .
The hardest part of the job was educating our busn partners on our testing methodology.
I overcame this by constantly keeping them in the loop via their project manager and encouraged an open door policy for them to see first hand the process and procedures we had in place to ensure a quality product was delivered.
I have managed many exciting testing projects over my 22 yrs in IT with the most satisfying being the Over the Counter Photo Licence System where I developed the busn rules, constructed the test plans and tested the system which was successfully introduced in NSW in 1996.

The typical days work for me was from installations, repairs and testing of various electrical telephony and civil installations.

From working at the RMS i learnt a lot about working near and with live traffic whilst installing lighting and emergency phones and also electrical signage.

My co workers were a great set of guys to work with and had lots of knowledge which i gained benefit in acquiring from them and also giving in return.

On the other hand upper management were not so good but my immediate manager was to me an inspirational person with a lot of knowledge and authority against upper management.

the hardest part was dealing with engineers who have never used a tool except a computer to tell us how we should do a job and 99% of the time they were incorrect in how the job was to be executed.  

the most enjoyable part of the job was for me working with a great team of guys.

working as a school crossing supervisor is a rewarding experience, getting to greet children's smiling faces each morning is very uplifting, knowing that children have arrived at school safely each day. safety is important and is the main aspect of this job and being able to do this is worthwhile.  greeting people and saying hello to children is one  the best part of the job.    Having other people to call on to fill your position when you are unavailable is also good aspect of this job. the hardest part of the job is being on the road when motorists do not obey instructions I.E. not stopping and speeding through the crossing. Being able to ring and report any hazards or difficulties is invaluable in these situations and management are supportive and encouraging in all endeavours.

Typical day included reviewing progress on individual tasks through to follow ups and team tasks.

Leant a great deal about customer requirements, options analysis, business case submission, resource management, financial tracking and especially project task scheduling and reporting.

Management was supportive and strategic thinkers.  Co-workers were fantastic experts in their field and always prepared to provide valuable input and quality work.

Hardest part of the job was securing funding and allocation of IT resources, regardless of advanced submission, planning and regular follow-ups.

Most enjoyable part of the job was the volume of projects available and interesting team members and skill sets.

I enjoyed every day working as a Customer Service Officer as no two customers were ever alike. The challenge of dealing with questions and resolving issues for customers meant that there was never a dull moment. Responsible for handling large amounts of cash daily required concentration whilst delivering customer service in a timely and friendly manner.  My co-workers were team players. Some may have had stronger skills than others, but we were all supportive of each other and I would not hesitate to step in if a co-worker requested my help. There were always opportunities to learn and grow within the organisation and employees were encouraged to take advantage of this.

Great work life balance.

Management vary, some are excellent, others leave you wondering how on earth they got the job.

ABW environment is encouraged but seems actively fought against by most staff who sat in the exact same place every day.

Hardest part of the job: is actively working without being distracted by personal life dramas of other employees.

Most enjoyable part of the job: the end of year get together's to celebrate achievements do make you feel like part of something amazing when you see what everyone is contributing to NSW across the org.

The RMS is a leading Transport Agency. It has always been in the forefront of Intelligent Transport System technologies. 
I have worked for 16 years with RMS. This has been a very rewarding and enjoyable experience. I have worked alongside highly skilled and professional staff in Traffic Management, Road Safety, Intelligent Transport Systems and life cycle management of assets.
I have completed pioneering and innovative projects in ITS across Australia.

I really enjoyed working for this company there was always room for improvement as a team player every staff meeting we had we try to get everyone opinion and take it on board .

Feed back was a great help from customers that gave more ideas how we can improve so we can be service to public.

I am people person and love working with people from different works of life.

I have been a back born for RMS over the past ears i have got my self Silver Award which says i was the star .

I used to do buddy training when new staff was added at the Registry

Employment through a nursing agency.Agency rarely showed it's face and was of no help in resolving workplace issues.
I was 1 of 2 nurses employed in a public service. Open plan office. I enjoyed the company of my nurse colleague and got on well with the non medical staff in general.
Extrememly busy with tight deadlines but work was enjoyable and very interesting.
I learned a lot and used my nursing knowledge to its maximum.

I had good time with the company except that I ended up with completely self centered, non-supportive manager.

I have seen majority of people enjoying working with RMS except those who work within Network Sydney !  

Company promote based on gander not competency.... !! So it is easy to get promoted if you are woman.
