I set up all aspects of the bar and tab.cash handling for keno, tab and bar. on other shifts i set up the poker machines, do the monthly and weekly reads for finance.there is always something you can clean and tidy. What i have learned? pactience and compassion.some customers have personal problems and you combine that with alcohole, well you need to be mindfull of the RSA and RCG laws for there own benefit.management have been supportive and aware of my needs. my co-workers make me smile. the hardest part is going to the funerals of the customers who have become dear to me. the best is seeing my customers smile and saying thanks lucy for today, see you tomorrow.

A typical day at work starts with gathering equipment necessary to carry out my task and duties after that the supervisor avails the time  management sheet and gives a brief information on any special duties for that particular shift. Then we are paired and go to the rooms of the hotel and work according to information on the time management sheet. As pairs we divide our work accordingly to ensure we finish our tasks and duties on time. 
I have learned to work very quickly and efficiently while ensuring the highest quality of work is provided. I enjoy interacting with my co-workers while working. The hardest part of the job miscommunication as other members of staff are not able to speak English.

A typical day if you were working with previous chef was he expected everything done now and he would tell at you if it wasn't done within seconds it made you hate to go to work. I learned what not to do with running a business and that I deserve better workplace and the management was terrible someone was all ways leaving because of them. The culture was terrible so much stressing and yelling all the time, the hardest part was not leaving and never coming back after a shift  and not raging at one of the chefs there was times where the nice chefs would make jokes and stir people up but that was only when the yelling chef wasn't there 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people. I’ve made some lifelong friends 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The WHS issues. There are constant accidents on the ourself deck due to the old timber but owners are too cheap to get it fixed properly 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Bar staff get paid more to stand around while restaurant staff do EVERY job including bar service and get paid less 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Unknown hours, unrecognised achievements

cblu restaurant has some of the nicest staff, whether you are a customer or a co-worker, it is always a pleasant place to be. Work can be demanding but it is always worthwhile and fulfilling. 

Management are a pleasure to work for and are always on hand with help or advice if needed. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is when a customer leaves happy and comments on the good service.

Demanding work place. Pressure to work efficiently.
Staff are great and friendly and a pleasure to work with.
Old Hotel and is well known in the area.

Management does not care about staff, no paid overtime you finish when they tell you, flat rate pay no overtime or weekend loadings, overworked, hardly have a break. No meal allowance 

It's a bar job. It's good if you're studying and need some income on the side, but that's it. There is no direction or progression and they are constantly understaffed due to everyone leaving

I would deffienately recommend this workplace to people who would like to gain some work experience. The work environment is fun but also fast paced, it would be ideal for people who are keen to work.
