It took them more then 3 months from my offer letter date to give me my first shift, and that as well with repetitive phone calls and emails from my side. 
Apart from this initial bad experience, once you are on roster people will take notice to n you. BUT, it is you who has to stand out! Show them you are worth it for the job and take responsibilities religiously from day one, ask questions, be humble and friendly, kill your ‘self entitled attitude’, and most important-don’t forget to smile- to your clients and your coworkers. I am sure you will nail it! I was offered permanent position in 6 months of my working, I am well integrated in my team, clients like me and the management is always appreciative of what i do. So as i say, change starts from you. This is a great company to work if you come with a right mindset.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Management is terrible and will go as far as bullying employees. Clients are wonderful but be aware of heavy workloads and little recognition.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Heavy workloads, minimum communication, inexperienced management, complex clients resulting in a large number of incident reports and no recognition for the input of hard work. Casuals are treated as a number and not a valued member.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Ideal to be insidious than a genuine employee, it will get you further.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great friendly staff respect abd appreciate your skills 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Loosing clients due to death working with the elderly

Friendly and supportive to staff and clients, all questions are answered,  made to feel you a really valued member of a team

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Meeting and greeting people,  giving of my time to connect to others in a meaningful way

Able Aust. took over the small community centre from which I worked and commenced making changes to procedures and systems that were in place and productive. Some staff were let go and volunteers told that they were no longer needed. 
The program that we ran was successful and the funding body and stakeholders were more than impressed with the outcomes.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I made new life long friends and then got out.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management have absolutely no idea of occupational health and safety 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I have nothing to comment on relating to this company 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Dreadful.  I'm happy to have survived the inadequate conditions

Ongoing skill Improvement and on job training program, good bunch of people to work with. Typical day at work includes; activity of daily living, medication administration, doctor's appointments, meal preparation and general cleaning. Tasks are divided accordingly a very day depending on the needs of the clients e.g school drop off and pick- ups, etc..

Productive, good work life balance, excellent managers.
The most enjoyable part of my role is that it is so diverse  with workers compensation nationally and working with NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), completing service agreements for clients on NDIS.  Workplace culture is good and improving.  The management team are very supportive.

Spend over a year working with my team. Love my work and team I work directly with. Company doesn’t have proper structure in place. Operation is a big mess and you won’t have any support. Management will pretend like everything is fine but in reality they know everything is on edge.

Working for Able Services Australia has been an experience to say the least.  I have learned so much about ours clients and what makes them 'tick' has been a real education for me.  If you are looking for volunteer work I can readily and easily recommend Able.

Some great characters, though long term not real opportunities. Seems to really need more participants to grow and stay viable in residential and day service. Hopefully this gets fixed soon!
