We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people in our industry; and we support them through professional growth, flexibility, and personalized benefits to manage life in and outside of work. Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades, and technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, we empower you to shape a brighter way forward so you can thrive professionally and personally.
What this opportunity involves:
The HSSE Business Partner serves as the primary on-the-ground health, safety, and environmental delivery resource for PDS ANZ's project portfolio, operating as an independent assurance layer rather than executing project teams' HSSE work.
An overview of the role:
You conduct independent site inspections, audits, and compliance verification across assigned projects, providing qualitative field intelligence that complements data-driven reporting. Your role is to verify implementation, provide technical guidance, and report findings—not to perform project teams' HSSE responsibilities for them.
Sound like you? This is what we’re looking for:
Independent Assurance: Regular site inspections and audits covering health, safety, and environmental compliance; tracking corrective actions; feeding findings into JLL systems for reporting; participating in pre-construction risk reviews.
Project Support: Providing technical HSSE guidance to Project Managers and site teams; supporting escalations and incident investigations; engaging subcontractors on compliance; participating in toolbox talks and mentoring junior staff.
Stakeholder Engagement: Building collaborative relationships with project teams and clients; supporting HSSE documentation and reporting; acting as a practical partner rather than enforcement officer.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying trends and systemic issues; contributing to framework development; staying current with legislation and best practices.
Requirements:
Minimum 4 years' HSE experience in construction/property with demonstrated site-based delivery.
Tertiary qualification or diploma in WHS; solid knowledge of Australian WHS legislation across jurisdictions.
Strong interpersonal skills to influence without authority.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Relevant certifications (First Aid, White Card); ISO 45001 knowledge.
Security clearance eligibility for government work.
