The Thales Defence Mission Systems Domain is a leading provider of integrated mission solutions to surface ships and submarines, and is the No.1 Naval fleet support and technical services company in Australia. It is also a specialist in the upgrade of naval vessels providing systems and platforms integration capabilities.
The Scylla Project Support Officer will be part of a diverse team of engineers, technicians, production staff and management involved in the In-Service Support (ISS) of Collins class submarine. Specifically, providing administrative and project support services to the group.

KEY OUTCOMES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Scylla ISS Project Support Officer, you are responsible for ensuring:
- Document Control: Preparation, configuration, transmission and retention management of formal correspondence and contract deliverables
- Act as moderator for document reviews of controlled project documents
- Periodic Report Review Administration: ensure reports are updated monthly, meetings are scheduled & actions complete
- Financial Administration: raise purchase orders & acquit invoices as required
- Meeting administration: schedule & update project meetings, draft agendas, take minutes
- Travel co-ordinator administration: book flights & accommodation, manage itineraries
- Administer staff allowances: Commitment, Offsite & Travel
- Maintain and coordinate project actions utilising company tools (JIRA) including office supplies and consumables for the UWS Programmes Office
- Support the administration of the Scylla ISS SharePoint Site
- Participate in the continuous improvement of administrative/support systems, processes and procedures, including Lean systems and processes
- Actively contribute to HSE culture & improvements within the group
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a project administration related role
- Demonstrated abilities in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Must have very good written and verbal communication skills
- Must have good initiative, self-management and planning skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Demonstrated experience in learning new software packages (e.g. JIRA)

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience working within Defence or Defence Industry environment LEAN or other continuous improvement exposure
- Cert IV Business Administration
- Demonstrated abilities in using ORACLE financial software
- Previous experience in document control
