We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic fitness professional to join our team as a Fitness Instructor and Personal trainer. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, tailored fitness programs to individuals and small groups, as well as providing general fitness services to all gym members. This includes conducting client assessments, designing personalised training plans, and supervising the safe and effective use of gym facilities.

You will also support fitness centre in administrative tasks, equipment maintenance, and other operational requirements as directed by the Coordinator, Fitness and Wellness Operations.

ESSENTIAL:

Certificate IV in Fitness or higher qualification (Exercise Science or Human Movement degree)
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Current/Valid Working with Children’s Check
Experience in small-group training, personal training and exercise prescription
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

DESIRABLE:

Additional qualifications in fitness instruction.
AUSactive membership/registration.
Experience working with diverse populations, including older adults and youth.
Knowledge of WHS requirements and risk management in a fitness setting.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities may include:

Conduct client health screenings, fitness assessments, and develop tailored exercise programs.
Supervise gym facilities, ensuring safe equipment use, cleanliness, and compliance with fitness industry best practices and university policies. Respond to incidents and administer first aid when required.
Provide exercise instruction, technique correction, and general member customer service support.
Assist with administrative tasks, equipment maintenance, and other operational requirements as directed by Coordinator, Fitness and Wellness Operations.
Plan and deliver individual and small-group exercise programs (1–15 participants), ensuring appropriate instruction, progression, and technique correction.
Develop and implement structured workouts in various training modalities that align with the format and objectives of Curtin-branded small group training classes.
