The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Coordinator Development Engineering to lead our Development Engineering team.

This is a key leadership role responsible for providing technical expertise, strategic oversight and operational direction in the assessment and delivery of development-related infrastructure. You will ensure engineering outcomes are safe, sustainable and aligned with Council’s long-term planning objectives.

In this role, you will:

Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineering professionals
Coordinate and assess development applications across civil infrastructure areas including stormwater, roads and utilities
Oversee operational works and contributed assets to ensure quality and long-term sustainability
Provide strategic engineering advice across Council to support planning, infrastructure and growth management
Engage with developers, consultants and government stakeholders on technical matters
Contribute to continuous improvement, standards development and planning frameworks
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and Council policies

About You:

You are a strong technical leader with a passion for delivering sustainable infrastructure outcomes. You bring a collaborative approach, sound judgement and the ability to lead a high-performing team in a complex regulatory environment.

You will bring:

A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent qualification, or extensive relevant experience
Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and development assessment processes
Extensive experience in infrastructure design, planning and delivery
High-level understanding of legislation, planning instruments and engineering standards
Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
A current C Class Driver Licence
