The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Coordinator Development Engineering to lead our Development Engineering team.
This is a key leadership role responsible for providing technical expertise, strategic oversight and operational direction in the assessment and delivery of development-related infrastructure. You will ensure engineering outcomes are safe, sustainable and aligned with Council’s long-term planning objectives.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineering professionals
- Coordinate and assess development applications across civil infrastructure areas including stormwater, roads and utilities
- Oversee operational works and contributed assets to ensure quality and long-term sustainability
- Provide strategic engineering advice across Council to support planning, infrastructure and growth management
- Engage with developers, consultants and government stakeholders on technical matters
- Contribute to continuous improvement, standards development and planning frameworks
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and Council policies
About You:
You are a strong technical leader with a passion for delivering sustainable infrastructure outcomes. You bring a collaborative approach, sound judgement and the ability to lead a high-performing team in a complex regulatory environment.
You will bring:
- A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent qualification, or extensive relevant experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and development assessment processes
- Extensive experience in infrastructure design, planning and delivery
- High-level understanding of legislation, planning instruments and engineering standards
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- A current C Class Driver Licence
