The area is home to more than 200,000 residents, including four large Aboriginal nations: Gundungurra, Ngunnawal, Ngarigo and Yuin. The population is expected to keep growing, with the fastest-growing age group being aged 65 and over. Affordable housing, wide-open spaces, plenty to do and see, arts and cultural events, and a rich history are what attract people to become residents of the area.

Where you'll be working - YASS
Yass District Hospital is part of the Inland Network. It is a 12 bed acute care facility that offers emergency medicine; acute medical inpatient services; pathology collection; pharmacy (outreach from Queanbeyan); and medical imaging (x-ray).
Yass Community Health is co-located within the hospital. Clients are registered/referred via the Central Intake Service. Community health services encompass aboriginal health; nurse led women, children, family and general services; oral health; drug and alcohol; mental health; sexual assault counselling; and allied health services such as physiotherapy, social work, occupational therapy, podiatry, speech pathology and dietetics. A range of community and allied health services are provided in the hospital.

Essential Criteria:
Evidence of a Medical Qualification and Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Evidence of relevant senior experience, such as working on the senior / in-charge roster and recency of practice within Emergency Medicine.
Minimum of 7 years' postgraduate experience and 5 years' experience in Emergency Medicine in Australia or equivalent setting.
Evidence of or working towards FRACGP, FACRRM and additional qualifications in Emergency Medicine are desirable.
Selection Criteria:
Holds registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, General Practice (FRACGP or FACRRM) or training towards specialist or additional qualifications for Emergency Medicine (such as Fellowship in General Practice or ACEM Emergency Medicine Diploma).

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
