About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical Administrator to join our team on a full-time basis at our Joondalup practice (WA 6027).
This is an integral position within our medical administration team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic. You will be a key point of contact for patients and staff, supporting both clinical and administrative functions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage patient appointments, scheduling, and coordination of clinic sessions
- Process patient registrations and maintain accurate medical records
- Greet patients and visitors, and respond to enquiries via phone, email, and in person
- Handle patient accounts, invoicing, payments, and insurance claims processing
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with health privacy regulations
- Coordinate referrals and communication between clinical staff and external providers
- Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and equipment as required
- Support the administrative team with general office duties and special projects
- Assist with reception duties and deliver high-quality customer service
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in medical administration or healthcare administration
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional manner
- Proficiency in medical software (Halaxy, Genie, Best Practice) and general IT systems
- Knowledge of health privacy laws and relevant healthcare regulations
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential patient information
- Strong interpersonal and customer-focused approach
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Relevant qualifications in medical administration (highly desirable)
