About Us
The Trustee for College Fields Family Medical Centre, trading as Wollahra Medical Centre, is a family friendly medical centre located in Wyndham Vale, Victoria. The clinics provide a wide range of services for the surrounding community including blood pressure checks, blood tests, breast examinations, assistance with chronic disease management, general health assessments, immunizations, minor surgical procedures, skin checks and sports medicine. We also provide services for WorkCover and TAC patients.
About the Role
We are looking for a hardworking and experienced General Practitioner to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a General Practitioner who values continuity of care, building long-term relationships with patients and working in a friendly and collaborative team environment.
The tasks/responsibilities of the position include:
- Provide high-quality clinical health services for patients in accordance with best practice and RACGP guidelines.
- Provide after-hours, on-call services as rostered if applicable.
- Conduct thorough patient consultations, examinations, and assessments.
- Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests and investigations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor patient treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient records in accordance with privacy legislation and practice policies.
- Provide preventative health care, health education, and counselling to patients.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement activities.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures in all clinical settings.
- Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and allied health professionals as required.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with current legislation and clinical guidelines.
- Monitor patient progress and review treatment effectiveness, adjusting as necessary.
- Manage acute, chronic, and complex health conditions within scope of practice.
- Assist in mentoring, supporting, and supervising junior staff or medical students where appropriate.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and multidisciplinary care planning.
- Respond to medical emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain professional development as required to maintain registration and to enhance skills.
- Stay updated with changes in medical guidelines, legislation, and relevant healthcare policies.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and qualified General Practitioner who is committed to ethical, patient-centred care.
The successful candidate will have:
- Current medical registration with AHPRA.
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in a medical field.
- Demonstrated experience working as a General Practitioner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent clinical knowledge and sound diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing to a team environment.
- Professional, ethical and respectful in all interactions.
- Organised with effective time management skills.
- Committed to ongoing professional development.
What We Offer
- 65% of the billings on weekdays and 80% on weekends for VR.
- $150 per hour guaranteed rate for the first three months.
- Bulk billing medical practice.
- Doctors will typically see 5 to 6 patients per hour.
