Full Job Description

Beerwah Medical Centre is a family run private billing general practice established by Dr Paul Dingle and Dr Sian Lauw.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, we are seeking someone for a permanent role of initially 1 day per week (but this will increase by the end of 2026) with additional hours to cover holiday, sickness or additional clinics as required by the business.

Hours can vary between 7.00am and close (approx. 6.00 – 6.30pm) so availability is required for both early and close shifts.

The role:

· First point of contact for patients to welcome them to our clinic

· Maintain efficient and accurate diary management for all doctors

· Manage inbound and outbound calls and emails professionally with courtesy and empathy and ensure messages are dealt with promptly

· Process patients claims and payments including Medicare, DVA, Workcover and Tyro

· Complete daily banking

· Maintain complete and accurate medical records including scanning and filing of all patient related correspondence and results

· Liaise with patients and their families, GPs, other health professionals and their staff in a compassionate manner ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times

· Restock treatment rooms, sterilise equipment and perform ECG’s as required (training will be provided)

· Provide ongoing support to GP’s

· Complete all opening and closing procedures as outlined in site manuals including tidying of doctor rooms and reception area

About you:

· Ability to work independently but also be a team player

· Flexibility with hours and ability to do extra when required

· Friendly and cheerful with an ability to establish and maintain a great rapport with patients and colleagues

· Previous Medical Receptionist experience preferred

· Pracsoft and Medical Director software experience preferred but appropriate training will be provided if necessary

· Strong customer service skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Confident in the use of technology

· Show initiative and work productively within a team environment

· Ability to multi-task and prioritise duties

· Exceptional time management skills and strong work ethic

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
