stunning NSW Clarence Coast. We are a busy hospitality venue offering high-quality dining
experiences to resort guests, visitors, and local patrons. Our focus is on delivering
exceptional food, outstanding customer service, and a memorable dining experience in a
unique coastal setting.
Due to continued business growth and operational requirements, we are seeking an
experienced and qualified Sous Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Head Chef, the Sous Chef will assist in managing all kitchen
operations and play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality food preparation and
service. The successful candidate will contribute to menu planning, supervise kitchen staff,
maintain food safety standards, and support the efficient operation of the kitchen.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef with the planning, organisation and management of kitchen
operations.
Prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes in accordance with menu
specifications.
Supervise, train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality standards
are maintained.
Assist with menu development, seasonal menu updates and special promotions.
Monitor food preparation, portion control and presentation standards.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety
requirements.
Assist with stock ordering, inventory control and stock rotation procedures.
Monitor food costs, minimise wastage and contribute to cost-control initiatives.
Coordinate kitchen operations during service periods and maintain efficient workflow.
Act in the capacity of Head Chef during periods of leave or absence.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.
Maintain a clean, organised and productive kitchen environment.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:
Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent relevant
qualification.
At least one years of relevant full-time post-qualification experience as a Chef or in a
similar role.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations and menu
development.
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
Sound knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles and workplace health
and safety requirements.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Functional English level to ensure good communication.
