This role offers flexible, people-first working conditions
- 35‑hour base working week
- Flexible start and finish times between 6am and 10pm, with core hours of 10am–3pm
- Flex time, allowing additional hours worked to be accrued and taken back as flex leave

About the role
NSW Public Works (NSW PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports many different local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services.
Public Works Property Team
NSWPW Infrastructure Property Team specialises in providing land acquisition and property services to state and local government clients, facilitating the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects.
As an Infrastructure Property Officer, you will assist with land and easement acquisition negotiations with landowners and provide advice to clients to support their decision making and project delivery. The advice may include communicating an understanding of the land acquisition process as stipulated in the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act or other related legislation processes.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in property-related fields and/or equivalent working experience in land acquisitions and property matters for state and/or local government.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with landowners on acquisition related matters.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand land title search information, survey/cadastral plans and construction plans.
- Ability to undertake historical land and property tenure searching.
- Experience in property transactions requirements of NSW Land Registry Services (LRS).
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991, Crown Lands Management Act 2016, Local Government Act 1993 and other relevant legislation and regulation relating to land and property.
- Hold a valid NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays.
