About the role

Ensure Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated Civil/Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Figtree, NSW. This is a full-time position based on-site at our Figtree office. As a Civil/Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, analysis, drafting and delivery of civil and structural engineering solutions for a broad range of residential projects. You will play an important role in delivering practical, high-quality engineering outcomes while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

We welcome applications from final-year engineering students, graduates, and experienced engineers. The role will be tailored to suit the successful candidate’s experience and capabilities. Applicants must currently reside in the Illawarra region.

Key responsibilities

Conduct structural analysis and design of civil and structural engineering projects, utilising industry-standard software and methodologies
Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for construction projects
Perform site investigations and assessments to determine ground conditions and structural requirements
Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met
Manage project timelines and budgets whilst maintaining compliance with relevant standards and regulations
Undertake site inspections and provide technical support during construction phases
Review and approve construction documentation and ensure compliance with approved designs
Contribute to the development of innovative engineering solutions and continuous improvement of project delivery processes
Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

Professional qualification in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Bachelor's degree or equivalent)
Current professional registration (NER) or eligibility for registration as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
Knowledge of AutoCAD or other computer-aided design (CAD) tools for preparing technical drawings
Thorough understanding of Australian Standards and Building Codes, including AS/NZS standards relevant to structural design
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Experience in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of construction practices and site coordination is highly desirable
Applicants must currently reside in the Illawarra region.
