Behaviour Support Practitioner (Subcontractor)

Illawarra / Shoalhaven

A Behaviour Support role designed for thoughtful, relationship-based practice.

At All and Sundry Therapy, we’ve designed our service to support thoughtful, relational Behaviour Support,
where there is space to get to know people, work collaboratively, and focus on what genuinely makes a difference in everyday life.

We are a practitioner-led organisation, run by experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners, including a Registered Social Worker with over 10 years’ experience across Behaviour Support and clinical services.
Our approach is grounded in real-world practice, with a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and doing this work well.

Who we are

We are a small, community-based team delivering person-centred, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming Positive Behaviour Support.

We prioritise:

meaningful relationships
time in real-life settings (home, school, work, and community)
thoughtful, individualised support

About the role

You’ll work alongside participants, families, and support teams across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven, providing Behaviour Support that is practical, respectful, and grounded in everyday contexts.

This role will suit someone who:

values relational, person-led practice
and face-to-face connection as part of your role
can work independently while remaining connected to a team
wants to be part of a service that prioritises quality over volume
Is willing to travel between the Illawarra and Shoalhaven areas

What you’ll be doing

Completing assessments and developing high-quality Behaviour Support Plans
Working collaboratively with participants, families, schools, support staff, and other stakeholders
Translating behavioural understanding into clear, practical strategies
Supporting teams to implement approaches that are respectful and sustainable
Contributing to the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices
Maintaining strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and communication

This is a role for someone who wants to engage in considered, relationship-based Behaviour Support practice.

Who we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone who:

has demonstrated experience supporting people with disability in meaningful ways
communicates effectively with families, teams, and professionals
values trauma-informed, person-centred, and neuro-affirming practice
is organised, accountable, and able to manage their workload independently
has strong writing skills and can produce clear, high-quality documentation

To be considered, you must have:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting people with disability, and/or
A relevant tertiary qualification (social work, psychology, teaching, counselling, positive behaviour support or similar)

Experience in Positive Behaviour Support, complex support needs, and stakeholder collaboration will be highly regarded.

Additional highly regarded experience

Direct Positive Behaviour Support experience
Understanding of the NDIS Quality & Safeguards environment
Experience working within complex support systems
Confidence balancing autonomy with collaboration
Suitability as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner (or working towards)

A note on fit

This role may not suit someone looking for high-volume or predominantly remote work, and will best suit a practitioner who values face-to-face engagement and relationship-based practice.
