We are looking for someone to join our busy neighbourhood pharmacy for 3-4 weekdays every week plus 1 extra day on a weekend every second week.
You must be polite, friendly, reliable, well-presented and punctual with great attention to detail. You must also be a fast and eager learner.
You must be calm, well spoken, easy-going & be able to remain composed and work mistake-free under pressure.
You will be dealing with a lot of sick people (no surprises there), but you need to have excellent health & not be someone who gets sick easily or is immune compromised.
The range of jobs varies during a typical working day, nothing strenuous or dangerous but you'll be twisting & turning, bending up, down & sideways and spending a lot of time on your feet. The job requires a certain level of fitness and is not suitable for anyone that has any chronic physical issue, eg a "bad back", because even if the injury is currently inactive, the nature of the job will most probably re-activate it.
You will also need to be mentally fit as well. There will be times when you'll be doing 4 or 5 things at once, at pace, for long periods, which must be done mistake-free every time. This will be stressful and challenging at first but ultimately very exciting and rewarding.
This job is not suitable for anyone with anxiety, personality spectrum disorders or any type of attention deficit issue. The job is fast-paced and there's a lot to learn and you will make lots of mistakes at first. That's ok. We will help train you and are very patient. But this job is not for someone who can't learn from mistakes, take constructive feedback, put mistakes behind them and move on quickly.
You will be dealing with the general public either face-to-face or over the phone for virtually every minute of every day. It takes a special type of person with resilience and a sense of humour to be able to cope dealing continuously with an unfiltered public. This job isn't for everyone and you will already know if you're a "people person" or not. Please self-filter and don't apply if you don't have the patience & strength to deal with the public.

You will grow in self-confidence able to perform complicated tasks that at first seemed impossible, you will be able to talk to anyone about anything with confidence, your personality will become uber resilient and we will encouage your personality to shine through your work.
We have a very friendly, nurturing & supportive culture but, that said, a team is a group of individuals each with their own quirks so you will need to be adaptable enough to fit in and work together as a team member in a team environment.
Your tasks will include, but are not limited to: serving customers, taking in & handing out prescriptions, booking vaccinations, Webster packing, using the MedAdvisor smart phone app, answering the phone, restocking shelves, helping patients access the Diabetes Australia program, ordering & receipting stock into POS, customer accounts, stocktaking, catalogue promotions, cash & eftpos sales, speaking to company reps, banking & change drawer reconciliation, retrieving & filing presctiptions, petty cash reconciliation, S2/S3 product accreditation and basic cleaning duties.
A NSW Drivers Licence with a clean driving history is needed by our insurance company to use our delivery car and they will not accept an International Drivers Licence.
Pay and conditions are as per the Pharmacy Industry Award 2020.
Previous pharmacy experience is preferred, but not essential if you have at least 12 months retail experience directly involved with cash handling or eftpos transaction processing face-to-face with the public. This experience needs to be recent, within the last 2 years.

1) you live further away than a 40-minute one-way commute to Thirroul, or if
2) English is not your first language that you speak at home, or if
3) you do not have a NSW issued Driver's Licence, or if
4) you haven't worked recently in a pharmacy or another retail business (12 months minimum experience) where you were directly involved with processing cash & eftpos transactions face-to-face with the public UNLESS you are a current student studying either a pharmacy degree or a pharmacy assistant course at an approved training provider.
