The Director Clinical Governance - Patient Safety and Quality provides leadership and direction on all aspects of clinical governance systems to maintain and improve patient safety and clinical quality of health care services and functions across ISLHD.

The role is accountable for ensuring comprehensive and effective clinical governance of Patient Safety & Quality systems and frameworks are in place across ISLHD and identifying and implementing opportunities to improve their efficiency and effectiveness.

The role provides high level direction to the functions of the Clinical Governance Unit and works collaboratively with members of the District, Hub, Service, Division Executive teams and the Board to strengthen integration of safety and quality of patient care across ISLHD.

The role provides expert advice to the Chief Executive and the Executive Director Medical Services & Clinical Governance on all clinical governance issues, including matters before the Board Health Care Quality and Safety Committee.
