About the role
Vakate Property Maintenance is looking for an experienced handyman / handywoman / property maintenance all-rounder to join our growing local business.
We mainly complete real estate property repairs and maintenance across the Albury–Wodonga area. The work is varied, so we need someone who is confident doing a bit of everything and can work independently once shown what needs to be done.
This role would suit an experienced handyman, handywoman, retired carpenter, maintenance worker, labourer, or someone with solid hands-on repair experience.

Duties may include
- Fixing and replacing door handles, locks and hinges
- Minor carpentry and timber repairs
- Installing battens, trims and small fixtures
- Painting, patching and touch-ups
- Basic plaster repairs
- Small rental property repairs
- General labouring and maintenance jobs
- Attending real estate work orders
- Taking before and after photos of completed work
- Keeping jobs tidy and professional
- Updating the business once jobs are complete
What we’re looking for
The right person will be:
- Experienced in handyman, handywoman, carpentry, labouring or property maintenance work
- Confident using tools and completing small repair jobs
- Reliable, honest and able to work independently
- Good at problem-solving on site
- Professional with tenants, property managers and owners
- Physically capable of hands-on work
- Flexible and willing to do different types of jobs
- Available around 2 days per week to start
Requirements
You will need:
- Your own reliable vehicle
- Your own basic tools
- Current driver’s licence
- Good communication skills
- Ability to take photos and send job updates
- Police check preferred or willingness to obtain one
Materials and products
You are not expected to supply materials out of your own pocket.
Materials and job products will either be supplied by Vakate or purchased through a business/trade account where required. This can be discussed further with the right person.
Pay and conditions
We offer a good hourly rate based on experience, plus travel allowance and superannuation where applicable.
Hourly rate can be discussed with the right person depending on their skills, experience and availability.
Hours
This is a part-time / casual role to start, likely around 2 days per week, with the potential for more work as the business grows.
