Full Job Description

Measures, cuts, finishes, fits and installs flat glass and mirrors.

Duties include:

Read and interpret blueprints or specifications to determine size, shape, colour, type, or thickness of glass, location of framing, installation procedures, or staging or scaffolding materials required.
Cut, fit, install, repair, or replace glass in building interiors or exteriors or in furniture or other products
Measure and mark outlines or patterns on glass to indicate cutting lines.
Prepare glass for cutting by resting it on rack edges or against cutting tables and brushing thin layer of oil along cutting lines or dipping cutting tools in oil.
Score glass with cutters' wheels, breaking off excess glass by hand or with notched tools.
Grind or polish glass, smoothing edges when necessary using hand tools or polishing machine
Create patterns on glass by etching, sandblasting, or painting designs.
Measure, cut and fabricate or install aluminum frames for glass installation
Install pre-assembled metal frameworks for windows or doors to be fitted with glass panels, using hand tools
Fasten glass panels into frames with clips, points, or sealant, adding weather seals or putty around panel edges to seal joints.
Set glass doors into frames and bolt metal hinges, handles, locks, or other hardware to attach doors to frames and walls.
Cut, assemble, fit, or attach metal-framed glass enclosures for showers, bathtubs, display cases, skylights, solariums, or other structures.
Cut and remove broken glass prior to installing replacement glass.
Operate cranes or hoists with suction cups to lift large, heavy pieces of glass.
Confer with customers to determine project requirements or to provide cost estimates

Requirement :

Over 3 years of relevant experience
Performing general physical activities.
Coordinating the work and activities of others
Ability to work under pressure.
Organisational and time management skills.
Initiative.
Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates
Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge
Communicate with different background team members

Full Time hours: (38 ordinary hours/wk + 7hrs guaranteed overtime/wk)

Annual Salary - $31.50 - $45 per/hr depending on experience

Minimum $79,500+ Super
