Your responsibilities will include:

In this role, you will:

Support the implementation, maintenance and repair of IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, networks and associated hardware and software.
Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server environments, SQL Server databases and supporting applications.
Perform system monitoring, backups, upgrades and disaster recovery activities.
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to instructors, students and Defence personnel.
Assist with classroom and briefing room technology setup and support.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and database issues to minimise operational downtime.
Support system security, compliance and accreditation activities.
Maintain documentation, operating procedures and work instructions.
Participate in continuity planning, configuration management and system improvements.
Attend technical coordination and scheduling meetings as required.

About You
You are a proactive and technically capable systems administrator who enjoys solving problems and working within a collaborative team environment.
Ideally, you'll have:

Experience supporting Windows Server environments and enterprise IT infrastructure.
Knowledge of Local Area Networks (LAN), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), server hardware and workstation support.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and database administration (desirable).
Exposure to scripting, automation or batch file creation (desirable).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
The ability to work effectively within structured governance and security environments.
A willingness to learn and develop technical skills across Defence systems.

About you:

We are seeking a motivated System Administrator to join our Integrated Training Centre (ITC) team in Williamtown. Reporting to the Training Operations Support Manager and working closely with the Lead System Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure that underpins the F-35A training environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a secure Defence environment, supporting mission-critical systems and developing your technical expertise across enterprise infrastructure, networking, and database administration.

Special Requirements:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
