Tiny Tusks Paediatrics is seeking a warm, organised and proactive Medical Receptionist to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and helping our practice continue to grow. This role is ideal for a friendly, motivated individual who enjoys building relationships with families, referrers and healthcare providers, and who takes pride in creating a positive experience for every patient interaction.
While previous medical reception experience is desirable, we are happy to provide training for the right person who demonstrates excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for our patients and families, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic while contributing to the growth and success of the practice.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Answering and managing incoming phone calls
- Scheduling and managing appointment bookings
- Liaising with patients, parents, GPs, specialists, hospitals and allied health providers
- Processing patient payments, Medicare claims and billing enquiries
- Managing patient correspondence, referrals and medical documentation
- General day-to-day administrative duties
- Assisting with maintaining efficient clinic operations
- Supporting patient engagement and helping create a welcoming experience for families
- Other duties as required by the employer

Essential Requirements

Preferred (but not Essential)
- Previous experience in a medical receptionist or healthcare administration role (minimum 1 year preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience working within a specialist practice or paediatric setting
