We're looking for an innovative Product Development Engineer who wants to take ownership of products from concept through production. About the Role
As a Product Development Engineer, you will collaborate with our engineering, production, and installation teams to design, develop, test, and improve vehicle accessibility products. You'll work across the entire product lifecycle—from concept development and CAD design to prototype validation and production implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative automotive and mobility products.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Develop prototypes and support product testing and validation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and production-ready.
- Resolve engineering challenges through analysis, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Support product documentation, installation manuals, and engineering change processes.
- Participate in product reviews and design improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in product development, mechanical design, or manufacturing engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication, and assembly principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage projects and deliver engineering solutions in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is advantageous:
- Automotive engineering
- Product development
- Manufacturing engineering
- Vehicle modifications
- Sheet metal or fabrication design
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Prototype development
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Engineering documentation and technical writing
