Sprint Material Processing is a leading WA-based metal fabrication and material processing company, delivering high-quality laser cutting, press brake forming and bespoke fabrication solutions to clients across mining, construction, manufacturing and industrial sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking two experienced Workshop Welders to join our skilled fabrication team in Malaga.
About the Role
This is a hands-on workshop-based role focused on welding and assembling precision-fabricated components manufactured from laser-cut and press-braked materials. You will work closely with fabricators and production staff to deliver high-quality work that meets customer specifications, tolerances and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Welding and assembling metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Selecting and setting up appropriate welding methods and equipment (TIG, MMA, etc.)
- Preparing materials for welding using grinders, calipers, rulers and other hand tools
- Aligning and clamping components to ensure accuracy and compliance with tolerances
- Welding in various positions (horizontal, vertical and overhead)
- Repairing and reworking fabricated components where required
- Inspecting completed welds and structures to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintaining welding equipment and tools in a safe and serviceable condition
- Assisting with general workshop duties, including fabrication support, quality checking, dispatch and goods receivable
- Adhering to all workplace health and safety requirements at all times
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience as a welder in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Experience with TIG and MMA welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
- A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Reliable work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines in a busy workshop
- Forklift license preferred but not essential
Qualifications:
- At least a relevant Certificate III in Metal Fabrication or equivalent. Significant work experience may substitute for the absence of the qualification.
