About the Position
The Waste Operator position will suit an individual with previous waste management knowledge, plant operation experience, a safety‑first mindset and someone who prides themselves in delivering outcomes that support a clean, safe community.
The position is responsible for the presentation and upkeep of Shire assets and, in an operational capacity, assists with the effective, timely and compliant delivery of maintenance activities, which may include, among other things:
- Operate specialised waste collection plant (side and rear loader)
- Collect residential and commercial waste from properties within the Shire as scheduled
- Operation and care of associated plant and equipment
- Ensure the safety of road users, staff and contractors which may include on public roads, within the community or on Shire property.
- Supporting street sweeping and other operational activities as required
- Planned travel to other Shire towns is required, including overnight stays in each location.
About You
- Experienced Plant Operator or skilled Waste Operator
- Experience operating street sweepers and/or dual control vehicles on public roads
- The ability to work safely and efficiently in an operational environment.
- Good communication skills and a team focused attitude
- A reliable, proactive and solutions focused approach
- A current HR Licence is essential
- A current White Card is essential
