Make Your Mark on Victoria’s Water Future

This year is a pivotal year for WSP’s Water Business Group. With major long‑term programs underway nationally and major pursuits on Victoria, we’re creating space for an Associate or Principal Structural Engineer with strong experience in designing water‑retaining structures to join our Water Utilities team.

This is your opportunity to influence high‑impact projects that strengthen Australia’s water systems and build more resilient communities.

About the Role

We recognise that everyone brings unique strengths. While experience in the water sector is highly valued, we also understand that careers develop in different ways. Whether you are operating at Associate or Principal level, we will shape the role around your technical strengths, career aspirations, and long‑term goals.

In this role, you’ll lead or support the structural engineering scope across multidisciplinary water infrastructure projects of varying size and complexity. Your technical expertise will guide the planning, design and delivery of innovative, practical and durable structural solutions.

You will:

Manage structural design for pipelines, sewer networks, pump stations, treatment plants and water‑retaining structures
Perform structural calculations and analysis in accordance with Australian Standards to support design projects
Provide structural input for proposals, including scopes, inclusions/exclusions and estimates for design and documentation efforts.
Undertake reviews and design verifications
Apply Safety‑in‑Design principles and maintain compliance with OHS&E and quality requirements

About You

Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
15+ years of structural engineering experience
RPV / RPEQ registration; Chartered status
Strong background in reinforced concrete, structural steel and water‑retaining structures aligned to Australian Standards
Confident managing projects from concept through detailed design
Excellent communicator with strong client engagement and technical reporting skills
