The opportunity

The Community Engagement Librarian – Games and Connection is a creative and community-focused role that brings people together through play. You’ll design and deliver engaging library programs using video games, board games and interactive experiences to spark creativity, build digital literacy and foster connection across all ages and backgrounds.

What you’ll do

Design and deliver games-based programs and services
Create inclusive, welcoming library spaces through play
Build partnerships with schools and community groups
Monitor and evaluate program success and community impact
Provide high-quality customer service and support library operations

What you need to succeed

Experience delivering engaging community or learning programs
Understanding of libraries’ role in community connection
Interest in gaming, technology and play-based learning
Strong communication and partnership-building skills
Relevant qualification or equivalent experience (library, community, education or similar)

Pre-Employment Requirements

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, a Pre-Employment Medical Check & a Working With Children Check (WWCC). Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa with full unrestricted working rights. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
