Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Chef / Cook to join our new Charcoal Chicken & Kebab restaurant in Ballarat.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food, including charcoal chicken, kebabs, grilled meats, salads, sauces and other menu items.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook charcoal chicken, kebabs and grilled meats
Prepare and marinate meats according to our recipes
Prepare salads, sauces and other menu items
Maintain consistent food quality, taste and portion sizes
Manage food preparation for daily service
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
Follow food safety and hygiene requirements
Monitor stock levels and minimise food waste
Work efficiently during busy service periods
Assist with menu preparation and kitchen operations
Work well with other kitchen and front-of-house staff

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen
Experience with charcoal chicken, kebabs, rotisserie or grill cooking is highly preferred
Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Good communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
