The Role
Perth Modern School is seeking a professional, hardworking and reliable School Psychologist to join their team. In this role you will ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful applicant will support the emotional wellbeing of students to assist them to achieve their educational goals. You will support individual students within a gifted and talented environment. Additionally, you will be required to liaise with parents and outside agencies. The School Psychologist is required to work as part of a student services team and implement initiatives across school support programs.
The role involves building and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships within and external to the Department of Education, a strong understanding of case management, ability to consult widely, and work effectively as both part of a team and independently when required. The school psychologist provides psychological services and evidence-based assessments and interventions in mental health and well-being, behaviour, risk and critical incident management, learning and disability.

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
