THE ROLE
Working alongside the Head Chef, you will help deliver high-quality meals and refreshments that meet each resident's individual nutritional needs and preferences. This is a hands-on kitchen role with real variety across meal service, functions, and the resident cafe.
Prepare and produce food items, including therapeutic diets and special meals, to a high standard
Follow recipe cards and prepare defined menus in a timely and consistent manner
Assist the Head Chef with day-to-day compliance with the Food Safety Program guidelines
Maintain high standards of food handling and hygiene across all kitchen activities
Assist with stock inventory and ordering
Deliver meals across dining areas within the residence
Support the retail cafe area and assist with function planning and delivery
ABOUT YOU
You are a qualified Chef who takes pride in the food you produce and genuinely enjoys working as part of a team. Aged care kitchen experience is highly regarded, but if you are coming from hospitality and want your work to mean more, we encourage you to apply.
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent trade qualification)
Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate (required)
Previous experience in menu planning, ordering, and special diet preparation
Experience in residential aged care catering (highly regarded but not essential)
A collaborative, solution-focused approach and genuine respect for the people you work alongside
National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
Proof of working rights in Australia
