To provide effective gynaecology and gynae oncology services to the patients of the Hunter New England Local
District, whilst undertaking learning and professional development activities with the aim of progressing to the
Fellowship of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and/or
a Certificate in Gynaecological Oncology. This position provides opportunities to gain experience and skills
across all areas of Gynaecology Oncology. The successful applicant will ideally be an accredited RANZCOG
CGO subspecialty trainee (year 1- .
The GynaeOncology unit provides care for women with a broad spectrum of gynaecology oncology conditions. It is an
integral part of a larger team including medical oncology, radiology oncology, psychology, family cancer services and
palliative care. There are excellent opportunities for clinical and basic research.
The Post Graduate Fellow in GO role will satisfy the clinical opportunities for the Generalist Gynaecology Advanced
Training Module (ATM). The Provisional Fellow takes a leadership role in ward rounds and management of gynae
oncology inpatients. They participate fully in the after-hours rosters covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The
role includes a contribution to daytime gynae oncology clinics, inpatients, acute presentations and gynae oncology
subspeciality operating lists.
