We are seeking a Pastoral Care Lead to oversee AV's Pastoral Care program which ensures employees, volunteers and their immediate families have access to inclusive spiritual and pastoral support. The role provides leadership, governance and continuous improvement to meet the needs of people of all faiths and those with no faith. The Pastoral Care Lead will lead the evolution and future direction of AV's pastoral care and chaplaincy service, driving continuous improvement and shaping a contemporary, sustainable and inclusive model as part of the Wellbeing and Support Services department.
This is a Full Time, Permanent position. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster in line with our hybrid working model.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Peer and Pastoral Care, responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:
- Lead a team of staff and volunteers to provide pastoral care and chaplaincy services including the recruitment, training, management and support of AV Chaplains and volunteer chaplains
- Provide direction of statewide pastoral care delivery to AV staff and families as part of the Wellbeing and Support Services department
- Ensure a consistent, inclusive and responsive service model, including after-hours coverage aligned to AV policies, legislation and operational needs
- Establish and maintain quality assurance arrangements such as service evaluation, audit activity, learnings and risk management, using data and feedback to drive measurable improvement
About you
To be considered for this position you will possess:
- Nationally recognised qualification in a related field such as theology, spiritual care, pastoral care, chaplaincy or divinity
- Experience in chaplaincy/spiritual care/pastoral care, preferably in a health service/emergency service environment
- Demonstrated experience leading a pastoral care service providing high quality spiritual care interventions at an organisational level, such as critical incident responses and bereavement support
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop high functioning teams including volunteer cohorts
