The School
Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 40 kilometres from the Perth CBD. The Role
The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate and dedicated educator, highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment. You will provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their understanding and appreciation of Psychology.
You would have high expectations, and display a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment. You should possess an ability to work as a collaborative team member and you will be committed to the development of strong professional learning communities focussed on student achievement and success. The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences to students.
Strong knowledge and skills in the delivery of Psychology, Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and General courses is highly desirable. The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and able to teach students of varying ability levels across Science in Years 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner.
The successful applicant will ideally possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies including cooperative learning. A demonstrated ability in the effective integration of innovative and engaging Information Communication Technology (ICT) based strategies is highly desirable.
