Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll and Account Officer to join our team! You will support end-to-end payroll and accounts operations across a complex workforce environment, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll and financial transactions. The role also provides administrative and reconciliation support while maintaining high levels of data integrity and customer service.
Responsibilities
1. Payroll Processing
- Processing end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
- Interpreting and applying the SCHADS Award confidently and accurately
- Managing payroll queries from employees
- Processing leave, timesheets, terminations, adjustments and superannuation
- Supporting payroll compliance and reporting requirements
- Assisting with payroll reconciliations and process improvements
- Making recommendations on system improvements relating to payroll functions and processes
2. Accounts Management
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, bank reconciliation, and employee expense reimbursements.
- Manage account payable and receivable processes.
- Manage reconciliation on bank statements and other financial transactions.
- Ensure timely payments and collections.
3. Taxation and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and year-end payroll documentation including payment summaries and EOFY processes.
- Support audits and maintain payroll compliance records.
- Monitor legislative updates affecting payroll and taxation compliance.
Requirements:
- A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and operational accounting.
- Strong hands-on experience with the SCHADS Award
- Knowledge on Taxation and Regulation compliance ( ATO, GST, Payroll Tax and Superannuation requirements).
- Exposure to aged care, healthcare, community services or disability sectors highly regarded
- Proficient in Accounting Software particularly Xero
