Full Job Description

The Whittlesea Bowls Club has recently undergone a major renovation and is located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The club is looking for a chef that is looking for full time work. The club has a bistro, 150 seat function room and an outdoor function space. The role for a Full Time position includes an annual salary and five weeks annual leave.

We are looking for passionate people to join our team and cook with seasonal produce in exciting and creative ways. You must have the ability to provide consistent high quality food under the direction of the Head Chef. Be able to maintain food and safety hygiene. You must be able to work nights and weekends, have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Skills and experience

The successfull aaplicant must demonstrate experiance as a chef in a similar role
A relevant formal qualification and/or recent work experiance is desireable
Demonstrate a clean and organised working style will be key as will a stable career history
Strong work ethic
Punctual at all times
Strong communication
Must be a team player

Duties will include:

Support head chef with menu writing
Assisting the head shef with ordering of food supplies
Supervision of kitchen and subordinate staff
Assist in staff training
Maintaing OHS and hygenic standards
Assist in quality control of all meals
Preping and preparing meals to order

Important skills:

Skills and experiance in a wide range of cookery methods to prepare a range of menu items
Well versed in the day to day operations of a busy kitchen as a middle management level.

Renumeration:

$75,000 to $80,000 plus super
