Your Opportunity
Step into a role where your work genuinely changes lives. As a Case Worker with the Eastern Murrumbidgee Youth Service (EMYS), you’ll support young people aged 16–25 who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. From crisis and transitional accommodation to outreach support, you’ll help young people stabilise their immediate needs and build long‑term pathways to safety, independence, and opportunity.
You’ll provide trauma‑informed psychosocial support, advocacy, safety planning, and structured case management, working both on‑site and in the community. Whether supporting in crisis accommodation or assisting through outreach, you’ll be a steady, skilled presence during some of the most challenging moments in a young person’s life.

The standard work hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 12 pm–8 pm, on a maximum‑term contract until 30 June 2027.
Your Key Responsibilities will be to
Provide targeted psychosocial support to young people aged 16–25 experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or related vulnerabilities.
Deliver holistic, strengths‑based case management including assessment, goal planning, safety planning, and regular review of individualised support plans.
Conduct intake and eligibility assessments for both accommodation and services, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
Support young people in crisis and transitional accommodation, providing daily living support, skills development, and structured case coordination.
Provide outreach support to young people living independently, couch‑surfing, or in unstable housing, ensuring their immediate needs are met.
Facilitate referrals and advocacy, connecting young people with housing providers, education and employment services, health and mental health supports, cultural services, and counselling.
Maintain high‑quality case records, including notes, reports, statistics, and risk documentation aligned with privacy and organisational standards.
Engage in community outreach and early‑intervention activities, strengthening networks and promoting EMYS services
Requirements for Success
Relevant qualifications in Youth Work, Community Services, Social Welfare, Social Science or related field
Experience supporting young people experiencing homelessness, instability or complex needs
Strong understanding of child protection and mandatory reporting requirements
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Professional approach with strong boundaries and sound judgement
Ability to provide practical, day‑to‑day case support in crisis, transitional and outreach settings
Strong administrative skills, including accurate case notes and documentation
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate is required.
Full driver's licence with no restrictions.
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
