Fixed Term Part Time – 12 - 76 hours per fortnight

Available now to 30th June 2027

We are looking for a Health Care Worker Grade 1 to join our supportive Community Aged Care Services team at Portland District Health. As a Healthcare Worker - Domestic Assistance, you will perform typical activities that include:

General household duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing, and meal preparation.
Shopping without consumer.
Responsible for compliance with safety guidelines in relation to cleaning products.
Required to report all unsafe conditions or equipment/appliances in consumers’ homes.
Carry out tasks in a friendly and cooperative manner, demonstrating a caring attitude towards consumer.
Encouraging consumers to maintain and enhance their abilities and strengths.
The incumbent shall have no authority to carry out personal tasks which would require the skills of a qualified nurse or allied health professional, nor to carry out any tasks for which he/she does not possess the necessary skills or level of competence.

About you:

Current Victorian Drivers licence
Certificate III in Aged Care, from an Australian registered training organisation or recognised equivalent qualification (or willingness to undertake training)
Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively and work effectively as part of multidisciplinary health care team.
Knowledge, skills, and experience in the delivery of duties to support consumers within the community.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, written, verbal and ICT skills.
Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues, and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Previous experience working in hospital, community care, or residential aged care setting.
