Full Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with statutory regulations, and delivering actionable insights to support strategic decision-making, as well as providing essential support to the wider finance team through financial management, reporting, and process improvements.

Key Accountabilities

Financial and Statutory Reporting

Ensure timely completion of monthly transactions and reconciliations.
Maintain the accounting ledger to ensure financial data reflects accurate and reliable results.
Lead the preparation of statutory accounts.
Act as first point of contact with external auditors and ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements.

Management Reporting

Analyse financial performance, monitor KPIs, and provide in-depth explanations
Assist in the preparation of monthly and end-of-period reports for the Executives and Board.

Finance Partnering

Partner with the relevant business stakeholders to assist with financial performance management toward targets

Treasury Management

Assist in monitoring compliance with the investment policy.
Assist in preparation of weekly and quarterly reporting, ensuring liquidity and the effective management of investments.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

Essential:

Statutory accounting experience and familiarity with Accounting Standards
Management of external audit processes
Experience managing end-of-month close and balance sheet reconciliations
Technical accounting expertise (AASB17 experience not essential)
End-to-end financial accounting and reporting (internal and statutory)
Commercial finance, FP&A, and business partnering experience
Strong aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, proactiveness, and continuous improvement
Financial services experience desirable but not essential
