Salary: $74,049 to $77,341 per annum, inclusive of an industry and tool allowance

About the position

Corangamite Shire Council is seeking a Plumber to ensure efficient, timely and cost-effective plumbing services to Council owned and controlled facilities.

The main responsibilities will include:

Undertaking building maintenance and repair tasks to Council’s buildings and facilities in accordance with the annual program, Council’s and industry specifications and standards.
Ensuring projects are carried out safely, in accordance with Council’s and industry specifications and standards with regard to employee and public safety.
Assisting with the preparation of the annual building and facility maintenance program, including conducting building audits to identify maintenance/capital works priorities.
Checking, maintaining and operating equipment in accordance with Council procedures, safety and manufacturer’s standards.
Providing regular progress reports on projects.
Undertaking project planning activities for specific building construction and major maintenance projects, including providing technical input, estimating material quantities required for projects, identifying job time frames and obtaining sub-trade quotations.

About you

A relevant trade certificate and related practical experience.
Sound knowledge of plumbing practices, with the ability to produce quality outcomes.
Knowledge of building codes of practice and the ability to read/interpret plans.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety procedures, particularly related to buildings and building works.
Basic written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with other staff, contractors and the public.
A current Victorian Driver Licence, Construction Induction Card, National Police Check and Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
