Permanent Full Time | 40 hours per week including a monthly ADO

About the Role

Join a supportive, trauma-informed team committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by sexual assault. As an Intake Counsellor/Advocate, you will provide assessment, triage, brief therapeutic support and advocacy to victim survivors and their families, while helping connect people with the services they need. This role also offers opportunities to contribute to group programs, community education and service improvement initiatives, supported by regular supervision and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Complete intake, assessment and triage of referrals
Provide brief therapeutic support and crisis intervention
Develop safety plans and coordinate referrals
Facilitate groups, education sessions and project work
Support young people with harmful sexual behaviours and families
Work collaboratively to deliver trauma-informed care

Skills & Experience

Degree in Social Work and AASW eligibility
Knowledge of sexual assault and trauma-informed practice
Understanding of MARAM, Child Safety and Mandatory Reporting
Strong communication, assessment and counselling skills
Current Victorian Driver Licence and Working with Children Check eligibility
