Full Job Description

Middle Mind Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Machinist to join our machining department. Working within a modern engineering workshop, you will be responsible for manufacturing precision components using a range of CNC and conventional machine tools. You will work closely with fitters, fabricators, and the engineering team to deliver high-quality products for clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathes, CNC machining centres, and conventional machine tools.
Perform CNC milling, CNC turning, surface grinding, EDM, and wire-cut machining operations.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Manufacture precision components to required tolerances and quality standards.
Produce one-off, prototype, and batch production parts.
Conduct machine adjustments, tooling changes, and routine maintenance.
Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
Support breakdown repairs and urgent machining requirements with fast turnaround times.
Collaborate with fitters, fabricators, and project teams to meet production schedules.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company safety procedures.

Skills & Experience

Trade qualification in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Machining) or equivalent.
Experience operating CNC lathes and machining centres.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and precision measurement.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Experience with manual machining, fitting, and general workshop practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.

Desirable

Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
CAD/CAM knowledge.
Experience in fabrication, equipment manufacturing, or industrial maintenance environments.
Forklift licence and current driver's licence.

Pay: $38.00 – $42.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
