About the Emergency Department

Emergency Services at the Austin consists of the Austin Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit.

The Emergency Department services approximately 90,000 patients per year with a large medical, nursing, allied health and administrative workforce.

The Emergency Department staff work together collaboratively to care for our diverse community. This service aims to be delivered in a timely, and compassionate manner, enhanced through teaching, research, quality improvement and innovation.

About the role

The Emergency Department Roster and Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and administration of recruitment, onboarding, orientation, rostering, leave and payroll/timesheet processes for the Emergency Department medical workforce.

A regular day will see you:

Coordinate recruitment of Emergency Department medical staff and onboarding requirements for new staff.
Maintain and regularly update the Emergency Department recruitment planner.
Coordinate and support rostering practices for the Emergency Department medical workforce.
Coordinate the Emergency Department medical orientation process in conjunction with the Deputy Director, Emergency Medicine (Workforce) and Directors of Emergency Medicine Training (DEMTs).

About you

As the ED Roster & Recruitment Coordinator, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:

Previous experience rostering medical staff in a complex and dynamic environment
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 (O365) applications.
High-level computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, web-based applications and electronic rostering systems.
Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and apply awards, Enterprise Agreements and other industrial instruments relevant to medical staff, including the Doctors in Training and Medical Specialists agreements.
Good understanding of the Victorian junior medical workforce structure and associated education and training requirements.
Desirable but not essential- previous experience using the specific rostering system (FMS), recruitment (SAP Success Factors), payroll and workforce systems.
