Pre-Emptive Healthcare is seeking an experienced psychologist to join our established multidisciplinary private practice in Balwyn North.
This role would suit a psychologist who has an existing caseload or referral base and is looking for a supportive, professional clinic environment to continue growing their practice. We are particularly interested in clinicians with experience working with trauma, anxiety, complex presentations, EMDR, Schema Therapy, or related evidence-based approaches.
We are looking for someone who is clinically confident, warm, reliable, and able to work independently while still being part of a collaborative team.

About the Role
The successful applicant will provide psychological assessment and therapy within a private practice setting. The role is suited to a clinician who enjoys working independently, has experience managing a varied caseload, and is comfortable supporting clients with anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, interpersonal difficulties, and related mental health concerns.
Experience in EMDR, Schema Therapy, CBT, DBT-informed therapy, ACT, trauma-informed practice, or other structured evidence-based approaches will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
The role will involve:
Providing psychological assessment, formulation, and therapy to clients
Delivering evidence-based treatment for anxiety, trauma, stress, mood concerns, relationship difficulties, and complex presentations
Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and reports where required
Working ethically and professionally in line with AHPRA, Medicare, and relevant professional standards
Managing your own caseload with appropriate clinical judgement, boundaries, and care planning
Working collaboratively with the Clinic Director, administration team, referring practitioners, and other clinicians where appropriate
Contributing to a safe, respectful, and supportive clinic environment
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has
Current registration as a General Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, or Clinical Psychology Registrar with AHPRA
A Medicare Provider Number, or eligibility to obtain one
Experience in private practice or a similar clinical setting
An existing caseload, referral base, or capacity to bring clients into the clinic
Strong experience working with trauma, anxiety, and complex client presentations
Training or experience in EMDR, Schema Therapy, or trauma-focused treatment, highly regarded
Strong clinical judgement and the ability to work independently
Excellent interpersonal, written, and professional communication skills
A commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and client-centred care
A current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
